Hello, fellow tribe members. And welcome to our first blog. Many people ask me if I practice ”mindfulness life changing techniques”. Well, I am not mindful everyday 100 percent of the entire day. That would be perfection. And, I am far from perfect. Mindfulness is a practice. So, like most things in life, your practice of mindfulness will vary. Think of how you feel somedays going to the gym. That’s a practice too. Some days I glide through a workout, while other days, I just want to stay home and lack any motivation.

This month was a challenging month for me in just about every aspect of my life. I moved to a new place, in a new city. My daughter started Graduate school and moved away from home and brought one of our dogs! I have a family member who has stage 4 cancer. I am launching a book. So many changes, energy shifting, new beginnings, empty nest, living alone. The list goes on and on.

It’s easy for our mind’s to lead us down a path of fear and uncertainty. The brain is trained for negativity and loves to settle into anxiety producing chatter. Remember our thoughts and feelings become larger than life when we don’t explore them or pretend they don’t exist. So, I gladly acknowledge these changes and know that at times it would be easy to start overthinking the negative possibilities. I labeled whatever emotion came up for me, fear, anxiety, sadness, joy. I stayed with these emotions for a few minutes. Then, I let them go. When, they became overwhelming, I shifted my attention to breathing. With each exhale, I asked myself. “Can I let this thought go?” We will explore more of these techniques, with our future Webinars! I also only included positive people to help me with the move. Friends who were excited that I was moving closer to them. Surrounding yourself around Love is always a good choice!

Peace and Love,

Cynthia
